Day 13 – Visit Historic Cauley Square $

Take a nostalgic stroll through old Florida at Cauley Square. The Shops at Cauley Square are restored original cottages and they house a variety of goods for sale. There are one of a kind antiques, memorabilia, hair salon, restaurants and my favorite, the craft items at Sew Crafty.
It won’t take you long to discover the family of raccoons that live under one of the shops. They provide lots of entertainment as they run from here to there and back. Most people usually stick around wanting to count them all.
The place is densely canopied by the huge trees. You can walk around on a hot Florida day and still feel comfortably shaded. There is no fee to get into Cauley square. Bring some quarters to feed the huge koi at the delightful fountain when you sit to take a break. The quarters are for the fish food, not to throw in the fountain!
Head South on US 1 to 224th Street. Cauley Square is on the right (west) side.
