Day 7 – Stargazing in Palmetto Bay $
March 17th, 2010 Categories: 365 Things To Do In Miami
The Southern Cross Astronomical Society sets up stargazing each Saturday night at the Bill Sadowski Nature Preserve in Palmetto Bay from 8 – 10PM. There is no fee. Their volunteers do this for fun. We’re lucky! Even kids who do nothing but video games will get a kick out of this. You can’t help but be in awe when looking through a telescope at a star that may no longer be there!
Bring lawn chairs, mosquito repellent, snacks but NO LIGHTS! And as you drive into the preserve, please turn off your headlights so you do not disturb the astronomers’ vision. Palmetto Bay SW 176 Street & SW 79 Avenue.
